About Bacca Shanghai
Bacca began when Caroline and Julya met as expatriates living in Shanghai. The friends discovered an amazing pearl supplier and found that their friends and family wanted the jewelry they were wearing on their visits home. All of Bacca’s pearls are hand selected by Caroline and Julya, and each piece of jewelry is individually made by a very few number of employees and by the two partners themselves.
Bacca’s concept is to cut out the middle man (retail stores) and bring well priced jewelry to their customers - without having to compromise on quality. We guarantee that our jewelry is at least of equal quality to your jeweler’s, but our prices are far more reasonable.
Julya currently lives in Shanghai, where she manages wholesale relationships and buying. Caroline lives in Portland, Oregon, where she manages customer relations, shipping and design. Our relationship with China
Bacca’s appreciation for the culture and the people of China has most certainly affected the way we do business. Over the past 3 years of building our business, we have developed relationships with our suppliers, ensuring that our pearls come from sustainable family owned farms that support their employees with proper living and working conditions. We continually go to these farms to maintain these relationships, guaranteeing that we are still supporting small businesses, like ours, that support the local economy in a positive way.
